(June 21, 2017): The Point Hotel & Suites located just steps from International Drive in Orlando, Florida has just been awarded the 2017 TripAdvisor's "Certificate of Excellence" that honors outstanding hospitality organizations worldwide. This is the seventh year in a row that The Point Hotel & Suites, managed by Paramount Hospitality Management, has received the prestigious award.
The highly recognized award celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on the TripAdvisor site over the past twelve months. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.
When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that considers reviews ratings. Business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, volume and regency of reviews. Additional criteria include a business’ tenure and popularity ranking on the site.

Many gay families have enjoyed Disney World and the myriad other Orlando-area resorts for years, as the city and its residents have been leaders in inclusiveness, even before it was politically popular. If you’re not going to stay on property at Disney, The Point is a smart choice. Located centrally on Universal Boulevard—and with a free shuttle service to nearby theme parks—the property has many suite options, including one- and two-bedroom suites, ranging up to 1,100 square feet in size and containing full kitchens and washers and dryers. There’s a pool and fitness center on property, as well. The décor is conservative in nature but pleasing, and the resort has an upscale feel to it. While there is one restaurant onsite, many families enjoy the easy five-minute walk to International Drive, where countless restaurants, chain and otherwise, abide.

It’s no longer a secret! Orlando’s ‘Suitest’ hotel, the Point Orlando Resort, is undergoing renovation
ORLANDO, Fla – January 7, 2015 – The Point Orlando Resort, located on Universal Boulevard and only 2 miles from Universal Orlando and 2.5 miles from the Orange County Convention Center, is undergoing an extensive renovation to re-position itself as the area’s premiere, all-suite, boutique hotel.
The renovation encompasses the entire hotel: all the suites, as well as many public areas. The new look and feel was fully evident with the recent unveiling of the updated hotel lobby and remodeled breakfast barista, which evolves a night into the new ‘EVO Lounge & Tapas Bar’.
The hotel has and will remain fully operational during the renovation process.
The rooms will feature a new and exciting furniture package including beds, dressers, sofas, fixtures, lighting and décor.
The multi-million dollar transformation pays homage to its surroundings, capturing the energy and evolution of the Universal Blvd. and I-Drive experience, but providing all the convenient comforts of home. The boutique hotel’s overall persona will offer more of a chic, city-smart space, where guests can balance business with leisure.
This will be the first major renovation for the property, which has only been open for eight years.
Re-imagined by Paramount Hospitality Management’s designer, the property is aiming for an approachable yet modern ambiance that will be achieved through textures, plush carpeting and classic lines – all of which underlies The Point’s ‘chic boutique’ hotel experience.
“The renovations are geared for the well-seasoned traveler – whether in town for business or pleasure,” said David Nimmo, The Point’s General Manager. “We want to offer the comforts and convenience of a home away from home, while providing unparalleled guest services.”
The property features an exercise room, modern business center, on-site parking and complimentary shuttle service to all the major theme parks. Amenities include a heated outdoor pool, Wi-Fi, hot tub and cabana bar.
The Point will have 228-beautifully redesigned hotel guest rooms once completed. 25 additional double-king room types have been added during the renovation. The oversized guest rooms are carefully designed with flexibility to meet the needs and requirements for all guests - whether for the business or leisure traveler. Each suite contains a kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, and tea and coffee making equipment. The 1- and 2-bedroom suites also offer full kitchens, washer/dryers and a whirlpool tub.
Many units also have balconies or patios.
Tower one renovation is scheduled to be complete Jan. 17 and tower two Feb. 8, 2016.
